About O-ring

O-ring is a flat ring made of; rubber (latex), Synthetic rubber (artificial elastomer) or plastic, used as a mechanical gasket in a ring-shaped surface generated by rotating a circle about a coplanar line that does not intersect the circle or we called it "torus joint".

Designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal at the interface.

The O-ring may be used both in relative motion parts like rotating pump shafts, hydraulic cylinder pistons or static applications.

There are two major standard size in this industry, which is metric and inch standard sizes (specified by the inside diameter and the cross section diameter).
